Jamuna’s mortal remains were kept in the film chamber for a while for fans to visit. Later, the family members performed the last rites at the Mahaprasthan in Jubilee Hills. Jamunaki performed the last rites of her daughter Sravanti. Jamuna’s husband Ramana Rao worked as a zoology professor. Jamuna has two children named Vamsi and Sravathi. But after the death of her husband Ramana Rao, Jamuna was shifted to an apartment in Banjara Hills after selling the big house owned by the family till then.
Not only in Telugu, Jamuna also acted in Tamil, Hindi and Kannada. He was also active in politics for some years. Joined Congress and contested from Mangalagiri constituency but suffered defeat. However, he contested as Rajahmundry MP and won. But.. they lost again in the next election. Even though Ananta joined BJP, she did not get due priority.
Senior actor Murali Mohan, who visited Jamuna’s mortal remains, was also seen carrying a pada. Similarly, Tollywood celebrities expressed their grief over Jamuna’s death through social media. It is known that Jamuna, who angered NTR and ANNR at the very beginning of his film career, faced a four-year boycott from them.
