Unexpected developments are taking place in the election of Kondapalli Municipal Chairman. It was not until midnight on Monday that a resolution was reached on whether the election for the chairmanship would take place. Tensions were high at the municipal office as police were also heavily deployed. MP Keshineni Nani was a bit nervous when he came out of the conference hall with TDP members.
In the recent municipal elections, YSSRCP and TDP Chero won 14 wards in the 29-ward Kondapalli municipality, while an independent candidate won. The TDP won 15 wards in the presence of TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu, an independent candidate who won in the tenth ward. In addition to this, MP Keshineni Nani has a decisive vote in the Kondapalli municipality.
However, the election for the post of municipal chairman was held on Monday and it did not reach a climax till midnight. With this, MP Keshineni Nani came out of the Kondapalli municipal office with TDP ward councilors. He later told the media that he did not understand the manner of the election official, although he did not know who was calling. He said he did not know why the election was postponed despite court orders.
MP Keshineni told the media that he was not even saying how long the election would be postponed. MP Nani alleged that they would approach the court with media footage from this morning.
