New Delhi.University Grant Commission i.e. UGC is preparing to bring the draft of UGC Faculty Recruitment Regulations soon. After the introduction of this rule, there will be a change in the rules of teacher recruitment in colleges and universities. With this, now candidates studying different subjects in UG, PG, PhD will also be able to become teachers.
After the introduction of this rule, post graduate degree holders who have passion for new areas like entrepreneurship startups and industry participation can be provided direct faculty appointment in colleges and universities. According to the information given by the Chairman of UGC, if a candidate studies different subjects in graduation, PG and PhD, then he can also be recruited as a teacher.

For your information, let us tell you that UGC is preparing to make changes in the 2018 regulation to maintain the minimum qualification and set standards for the appointment of teachers and other academic staff in universities/colleges. According to the old rule, till now four-year graduation/PG along with PhD is the minimum qualification for recruitment.
Along with this, according to this rule, it is still mandatory for graduation/post graduation and PhD to be from the same subject. Now preparations are being made to make changes in this. A detailed review has been done on this in the last 6 months after which a draft has been prepared. According to the UGC Chairman, now more emphasis will be given on research.
