Sports Desk. Australia cricket team defeated India in the day-night test match played in Adelaide. The host team needed 19 runs to win, which they easily scored without losing any wicket. With this, Australia has equalized 1-1 in the five-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
India won the first test match played in Perth. Now Australia has equalized. India batted first in this match and could score only 180 runs. Australia scored 337 runs in the first innings and took a lead of 157 runs over India on the basis of Travis Head’s brilliant century. Indian batsmen also failed in the second innings and could score only 175 runs, due to which the host team got a very low target which they achieved easily.
With this, Australia has continued its winning streak in the Pink Ball Test matches in Adelaide. Australia has not yet lost in a day-night test match on this ground. Australia has played eight day-night test matches on this ground, winning all of them. This is the same ground where Team India had lost badly on its last Australian tour and was bundled out for just 36 runs in the second innings, which is its lowest score in a Test innings.
This time also India did not win on this ground. Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSwany easily led the team to victory by scoring 19 runs each. McSwany remained unbeaten on 10 and Khawaja remained unbeaten on nine. Cummins took five wickets in the second innings. Mitchell Starc took six wickets in the first innings. Travis Head scored 140 runs in 141 balls in the first innings. These three were the main heroes of Australia’s victory.
