With a grand slam by Jake Gatewood and a five-run rally in the third inning, the Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos defeated the Sultanes de Monterrey 13-3, thus taking the first game of the series corresponding to the Semifinal of the North Zone.
The Uni-Trade Stadium in Laredo, Texas witnessed a real feast by the locals who were surrounded by their audience that packed the building.

The ninth from Monterrey added two more runs with a double by Víctor Mendoza that boosted ‘Tito’ Valenzuela and ‘Tano’ Elizalde to the register to make it 13-3, definitive.
The winning pitcher was Brandon Brennan; while Nivaldo Rodríguez took the defeat.
The second game of the series will take place this Sunday, August 20 at 8:05 p.m. (7:05 p.m. Monterrey time) at Parque La Junta in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas. The starting pitchers are Radhamés Liz for the locals and Tyler Eppler for the Monterrey ninth.
