There will be a military exercise in the UAE from February 27 to March 17 under the name Desert Flag.
For the first time, the Indian Air Force has sent fighter aircraft Tejas out of the country for military exercise. The Airforce has given its official information. A senior official told that there will be a military exercise in the United Arab Emirates named Desert Flag from 27 February to 17 March. This will include 5 Light Combat Aircraft Tejas and 2 C-17 from India.
Many countries including Britain, France will participate in military exercise
This is the first time Tejas is being sent out for military exercise by the Indian Air Force. The desert flag will also include airforces from the UAE, France, Kuwait, Australia, Britain, Bahrain, Morocco, Spain, South Korea and the US.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee named the aircraft Tejas
After 18 years of hard work, finally in January 2001, for the first time, this indigenous fighter jet flew in the sky of India. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the Prime Minister of the country when all this was happening. It was Vajpayee who gave it ‘Tejas’ in 2003. While naming Tejas, Prime Minister Vajpayee had said that it is a Sanskrit word, which means ‘glowing’.

Tejas is different from other fighter jets because of its 4 features
Currently, the top fighter jets in the Indian Air Force fleet include the Sukhoi Su-30MKI, Rafale, Miraj, MiG-29 and Tejas. Tejas is different and special from the rest of the four fighter jets because of these features.
First: 50% of the parts of this aircraft i.e. machinery have been prepared in India only.
Second: Israel’s EL / M-2052 radar has been installed in this aircraft under modern technology. Because of this, Tejas is capable of tracking and engaging 10 targets simultaneously.
third: Ability to takeoff on a very short runway ie 460 meter runway.
the fourth: This fighter jet is the lightest among all four i.e. only 6500 kg.

After all, why did the Airforce need Tejas?
Due to the crash of more than 400 MiG-21 aircraft in the last five decades, the Government of India wanted to replace it. Tejas succeeded in replacing this MiG-21. Due to the low weight of this aircraft, it can easily land and take off even on sea vessels. Not only this, its weapon carrying capacity is twice that of MiG-21. Talking about speed, Tejas has a speed of 300 kilometers per hour more than Rafale.
