The Supreme Court collegium has recommended the name of Justice Ujjal Bhuyan as the new Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court. New CJs will be appointed to the high courts of Telangana and four other states. Satish Chandrasharma, who is currently the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court, will be transferred to the Delhi High Court. The collegium has recommended the names of the new CJs to the high courts of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Guwahati.
Justice Vipin Sanghi, currently a Delhi High Court judge, will be the Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court. Similarly, the Bombay High Court has recommended the appointment of Justice Amjad A. Saeed as the new Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court. Gujarat High Court Judge Justice Rashmin M Chhaya will be transferred as Guwahati High Court judge. SS Shinde, who is another judge in the Bombay High Court, will be appointed as the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court.
Telangana High Court Chief Justice Satish Chandrasharma has been transferred to the Delhi High Court, while Ujjal Bhuyan has been promoted to the post of Chief Justice by the Supreme Court collegium. Justice Ujjal Bhuyan is currently a judge in the Telangana High Court. He is a former judge of the Guwahati High Court and a judge of the Bombay High Court. He was sworn in as a Telangana High Court judge in October last year.
