Tension in Mangalagiri over obstruction of Anna canteen arrangement

GumCity officials blocked the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders’ arrangements for the canteen at the bus stand in Mangalagiri, Tour district. The altercation between the TDP activists and the authorities led to tension. TDP activists are conducting a chalivendram at the NTR statue near the bus stand. On Friday (June 10), the TDP ranks wanted to celebrate MLA Balakrishna’s birthday and start a canteen next to Chalivendram. Arrangements began at the NTR‌ statue. Meanwhile the authorities came and removed Chalivendran. Tensions were high for a while as TDP activists clashed. Police were deployed.

TDP leaders have been setting up a cold storage at the NTR statue for a few days and distributing buttermilk. Arrangements are currently being made for an adjoining canteen. Nara wanted to start this over Lokesh’s hands. Meanwhile, the TDP ranks were outraged when the authorities came and obstructed them. It seems that the police have arrested some TDP leaders who are causing concern.
