Tesla has expressed interest in setting up a factory in India to manufacture low-cost electric vehicles for the local market and exports. It is hinted that this new vehicle will be launched in the Indian market.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the US and met business leaders including Elon Musk. Elon Musk has revealed that he is interested in investing in India. Following this, Tesla representatives are coming to India.
It is indicated that a plant for cars will be built at a cost of around 20 lakh rupees. This model is sold in China at a price equivalent to just $32,200. The Times of India had reported that the car could be priced at 25 percent lower than the cheaper sedan models.
Tesla is interested in laying the foundation for manufacturing electric vehicles in India.
Once the factory is built, it will not only cater to India’s demand for electric vehicles but also serve as an export hub. This will boost India’s competitiveness in the electric vehicle market.
