Among the dead are four young women and two young men. As the fire spread rapidly, they went into a room on the fifth floor and closed the door. The fire did not catch them, but they fainted because of the smoke. They were unconscious when the firemen reached the spot. The injured were rushed to the hospital, but there was no result. He died while receiving treatment at the hospital. The deceased have been identified as Pramila, Vennela, Shravani, Triveni, Prashant and Shiva.
DG Nagireddy of Fire Department responded to this fire incident. Short circuit is believed to be the main reason for the fire. In this incident, the shops on the 5th and 7th floors were completely destroyed. As soon as the information was received, it was revealed that the fire was brought under control with the help of 15 fire engines. 12 people trapped inside the building were rescued. They said that they told the owners of Swapnalok building to install fire safety, but they neglected it. He said that even though fire safety has been installed in the building, they are not working at all. He said that the negligence of the shop keepers is evident in this incident.
Nagireddy revealed that the condition of the building is good. It is said that some people died because they could not get out because of the locks. Nagireddy suggested that those conducting business transactions should not neglect maintenance. He said that notices have been given to the management of Swapnalok Complex on this matter. He suggested that every commercial complex should have a fire fighting system. Commercial complexes should not be locked if there is fire safety. They said that they should keep the staircase open along with the lift in every complex, and call 101 if the staircase is locked in any complex.
