“Now I know the secret of the Moroccan football team’s revival in the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar,” said Nigerian Victor Osimhen, the Italian Napoli star and winner of the Best African Player award on Monday.
Osimhen, who surpassed Achraf Hakimi, the star of the Moroccan national team, and Mohamed Salah, the star of the Egyptian national team, said, on the sidelines of the CAF Awards distribution, “I nominate Morocco to be a global competitor.”
The Nigerian man said, “I am visiting Morocco for the third time, and every time I visit this country, I see great progress in all fields.”
He added that Morocco “has ambition and the ingredients for success, so the rest of the African countries should take a lot of inspiration from this country.”
The source pointed out that “Morocco is currently progressing and this is clear. I visited new facilities, and I was able to find out the secret of its awakening in the 2022 World Cup.”
He continued, “I thank God and thank Him for this award. It was a dream for me that has come true. I want to thank Nigerians for their support of me, and I also thank the African continent, and I thank everyone for encouraging me.”
