Basheer, who had been running a cold store in Bahrain for 25 years, was beaten up by the assailant in her own shop. The incident took place at a shop in Hajiya, Rifa, Bahrain on the 22nd.
The young man bought the goods from the shop and left without paying. The 30-year-old accused beat Basheer outside the shop after chasing the accused. Basheer, who fell unconscious on the ground, was immediately taken to the BDF hospital by those present at the scene. He was on ventilator for four days but his life could not be saved.
The attacker was arrested by the Bahraini police. The accused was remanded as per the order of the Public Prosecutor. But the information about the accused has not been made public yet.
The video of accused beating Basheer was circulated on social media. Indian Embassy officials and KMCC were involved in the matter. He succumbed to death last Tuesday morning. KMCC’s dead body management wing has completed the steps to bring the dead body home.
KMCC State Committee, Kozhikode District Committee and Rifa Area Committee have condoled the demise of KMCC worker Basheer. He was involved in problems related to non-residents and helped many people.
