New Delhi: Prime Minister Modi has said that the welfare of the poor has been at the center of every budget presented by his BJP government.
A meeting of BJP MPs was held on Tuesday. Prime Minister Modi attended the meeting after the presentation of the Union Budget. Speaking then, he said: “This is the complete budget presented before the parliamentary elections to be held next year. However, no one can say that this is a budget presented for the elections. The interests of every section of the society and overall development are mentioned in every part of the budget.
The welfare of the poor was at the center of every budget presented by the BJP government led by me. I would like to remind you here that Union Minister Pragalad Joshi had said that even those who are against BJP ideology have welcomed this budget. There is a perception that urban youth are not much into sports. So BJP MPs should conduct more sports competitions.
“Various foreign delegations coming to participate in the G20 meetings are highly appreciative of the manner in which India has organized the meetings,” he said.
In his speech, the Prime Minister recalled the Gujarat earthquake in 2001 and also spoke about the devastating earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria. Condoling the victims of the earthquake, the Prime Minister said, “All humanitarian assistance will be provided to the affected people of Turkey and Syria.” An Indian team has rushed to Turkey with relief materials,” PM Modi said.
