One night in August 2016, Diana Quer’s trail is lost forever in A Pobra do Caramiñal. Without success, for more than a year the investigators search for the young woman. Finally, after the arrest and confession of José Enrique Abuín Gey, alias ‘El Chicle’, they found the body in a well on December 31, 2017. The Investigation Team analyzed the keys to the case in a 2019 program that laSexta has returned to broadcast this Friday.
Months after the disappearance, the Civil Guard announces that it has a suspect and from then on ‘El Chicle’ shows notable nervousness.
The individual decides to call a Civil Guard agent whom he knows and tells him that he feels watched. “There were two or three cars behind me, the day before I saw a gray Qashqai, then later a Renault…”, he tells her.
Throughout the conversation, the agent asks him if he was at the parties in A Pobra do Caramiñal and ‘El Chicle’ answers that he was: “We were with the woman until 4 or 5 in the morning.”
Juan Carlos Quer, Diana Quer’s father, considers that the call is vital for the investigation because José Enrique Abuín makes “an error in the statement he makes at that moment because he is in the place.”
‘El Chicle’ is currently serving a reviewable permanent prison sentence for the crime of Diana Quer.
