A lawyer’s daughter (10) from Bhavanipura was playing in a local park when a man misbehaved with the child. So the lawyer went to Bhavanipuram police station to file a complaint about this incident at 10 pm. The police made him sit till 11.00 pm and advised him to go to the Disha police station and file a complaint without filing an FIR. The accused came to the police station after 11.00 pm and lodged a false complaint against the lawyer.
However, the police registered a case against the lawyer without investigating. This matter was told to the lawyer and BBA executive committee members.. They explained to the police commissioner over the phone. Lawyers became agitated as they promised to take appropriate action in this regard and did not keep their promise. They demanded immediate suspension of Bhavanipuram CI Umar and ASI Gangadhar and protection of the victim’s family. They protested by rallying from the premises of the courts on the fifth road. Suddenly hundreds of lawyers came on the road causing severe disruption to the traffic. The lawyers protested for about 5 hours. In this order action was taken against CI Umar.
