Blogger Andrei Burim (Mellstroy) will go on trial for beating a girl on stream. This was announced on April 28 by the press service of the capital’s supervisory agency.
“The Presnenskaya Interdistrict Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Moscow has approved an indictment in a criminal case against a 23-year-old unemployed resident of Moscow. He is accused of committing a crime under Art. 116 (beatings) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “, – follows from the message.
The criminal case was sent to the magistrate’s court for examination on the merits.
The incident took place in October last year.
The blogger, being in the Moscow City apartments and broadcasting live on YouTube, deliberately grabbed the blogger and model Alena Efremova by the neck, then hit her head several times on the table surface, and then pushed her hard. The girl fell to the floor.
Subsequently, she wrote on social networks that the streamer broke her jaw. Subsequently, the medical examination showed that the girl had received a closed head injury and concussion.
The girl noted in the publication that the blogger offered her money, but she was going to “fight to the end so that no one would ever suffer from the actions of this person.”
The first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science Gennady Onishchenko called for amendments to the legislation to regulate the dangerous activities of bloggers.
Also, Anton Orlov, director of the Institute for the Study of Problems of Contemporary Politics, proposed to introduce criminal punishment for broadcasting streams demonstrating violence on the Web.
In his opinion, now there is no article providing for criminal liability for the broadcast of trash streams, although there are several articles in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation that are indirectly related to this topic.
