In Blagoveshchensk, in 2022, they plan to completely modernize the Central Library, located at the intersection of Krasnoarmeyskaya and Kalinina streets. This was reported by the press service of the city mayor’s office.
As part of the renovation, the library will repair utilities, roof, facade, interior, insulate the walls and perform a number of other works, writes the Amur News Service.
“The first element, architectural lighting, has already been completed. The sign, which has been welcoming visitors for many years, has also changed. The old green billboards have been replaced by a modern transparent sign. The work performed will not interfere with the new repair,” said Alexandra Rykhnovets, director of the municipal information library system.
In March, work on the facade will continue. The contractor will have to remove the old layer of plaster from the outer walls, as they are in a pre-damage state, and where it is necessary to restore the brickwork. Then the surface will be leveled and re-plastered, painted. The work will also affect the chased bas-relief on the facade. The figures will be cleaned and covered with a protective compound.
New equipment, furniture and books will be purchased as part of the Culture national project. The corresponding competitive selection of the Central team was held in 2021. At the same time, the mayor of Blagoveshchensk, Oleg Imameev, decided that it was necessary to equip the library after the renovation of the building. Funds for repairs were allocated from the city budget.
