The coaches of Kalba and Ajman, the Serbian Vuk Rašović and Goran Tovičić, respectively, criticized the performance of their teams in the match that resulted in a 3-2 victory for Kalba, yesterday, Sunday, in the 11th round of the ADNOC Professional League, for various reasons, most notably scoring unexpected goals and individual errors by the players, and a decline in… level, stressing the necessity of taking subsequent technical decisions and measures.
Kalba ranks seventh on the league list with 17 points, while Ajman remains in tenth place with 10 points.
Kalba coach Rashovic was surprised by the decline in his team’s performance and conceded two goals in the last minutes of the match, even though Ajman played with 10 players, affected by an expulsion. He said in a press conference: “We presented a good first half, and we could have decided the victory result early had it not been for the negative point that we encountered in the match.” “The first half by not taking advantage of the opportunities we had.”
He added: “In the second half, until one of the Ajman players was sent off, the team was playing well, and then our opponent played the match with ten players. We did not play well… I know what the team needs in the coming period, and will soon make decisions in this regard.”
He concluded: “The victory was very important in obtaining three valuable points, regardless of how they were obtained, and I congratulate the audience for enjoying the five goals that the match witnessed.”
On the other hand, Ajman coach Goran Tovedzic stressed that “players who do not want to play within the Ajman system and do not want to sacrifice on the field for the sake of the team do not deserve to play with the team.”
He explained: “The slow play adopted by the Ajman players caused the loss to Kalba, especially in the first half of the match, in which we conceded two goals within a few minutes, despite our warnings against the counterattacks that Kalba is good at.”
He continued: “The team improved in the second half and controlled the course of the match and we scored two goals. However, I am not satisfied with the result and this is a big lesson for us.”
