Forestry engineer Janier Pinedo, known by his nickname ‘Dancing Engineer’, has faced a series of medical complications after contracting dengue fever while working in the province of Condorcanqui, Amazonas. His health began to deteriorate severely on July 8, when he developed pneumonia, leading to his transfer to the EsSalud hospital in Bagua along with his nurse.

Once in Bagua, it was discovered that Janier Pinedo was suffering from a pleural effusion, a complication that required his transfer to the Almanzor Aguinaga Asenjo Hospital in Chiclayo due to the lack of specialists in the first town. In Chiclayo, he underwent a drainage procedure on his lungs, which initially showed an improvement in his health. The recovery seemed promising, evidenced by a video shared by Pinedo in which he was seen dancing, which generated hope among his followers.

However, on August 14, Janier suffered a serious relapse, beginning to experience severe respiratory problems that almost led to cardiac arrest. According to his brother Cesar Pinedo, he is currently in the Intermediate Care Unit (NICU), where he is receiving assistance with an artificial respirator and fighting to recover his health.
