The DB World Golf Tour launched a tool to monitor greenhouse gas emissions for fans while traveling to watch 12 of the tour’s tournaments around the world, which will be held under the slogan “Race to Dubai” in 2024, as part of the tour’s initiatives to enhance the role of fans in addressing the climate crisis, and motivating them to reduce it. As tournaments continue around the world before the main conclusion, which will be held in the Emirates, with two consecutive tournaments in Abu Dhabi and Dubai next November, in order to support global efforts to reduce global warming and achieve the sustainable goals of the United Nations.
The new tool measures and offsets greenhouse gas emissions when traveling to the 12 tournaments, and ticket holders will automatically receive a link via email where they can enter information related to travel to the event, then purchase verified carbon credits to offset their calculated greenhouse gas emissions.
