Kochi: The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has extended the deadline for linking with the Aadhaar Universal Account Number (UAN). Kovid was given a three-month grace period following the outbreak. Accordingly, there is time till September 1 to link the Aadhaar and PF accounts.
Earlier, the last date for connecting Aadhaar and UAE number was June 15. The EPFO issued a circular on May 3. The EPFO had mandated that Aadhaar be linked to a UAN number for filing electronic challan-cum-returns (ECR). The ECR is filed by the employer. Extending the time limit will give employers more time to link employees’ Aadhaar numbers with the UAN.
