Our national team for the deaf achieved a new achievement by winning the gold medal in the team competition, within the Asian and Pacific Deaf Bowling Championship, held in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, from the first to the eighth of this December, with the participation of more than 3,000 players, male and female, from 30 countries, competing in 20 competitions.
Our national team gave an outstanding performance and won all six rounds, thus confirming its worth and ability to grab first place, while the Taiwanese team took second place, and the Malaysian team came in third place.
The head of the delegation, Chairman of the Emirates Committee for Deaf Sports, Abdullah Ahli, said: “This achievement reflects the extent of our athletes’ commitment and determination to raise the UAE flag in international forums. We are proud of what our players have achieved, and it is evidence of the great support that our wise leadership provides to the sport of people of determination, and it is still ahead of our players.” They have a lot to offer by achieving more successes in the future.”
Ahly added that this achievement represents a strong push towards strengthening the position of our dear country as a leading country in deaf sports, pointing out the importance of continuing investment in developing talent and qualifying it to achieve more achievements.
As coach Shaker Ali said: “This Asian achievement is the result of the persistence and determination of our players who were able to defeat the strongest Asian teams. Thank God they were able to snatch the gold. This achievement is a dedication to our dear country on the occasion of our celebrations of the 53rd National Federation Day.”
The tournament activities will continue with the team players competing in the masters competitions.
