New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his deepest condolences on the death of Emeritus Archbishop Desmond Tutu. South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who fought against apartheid, has died. He was 90. Tutu coined the term rainbow nation when Nelson Mandela became South Africa’s first black president.
Desmond Tutu was awarded the 1984 Nobel Peace Prize for his peaceful struggle against white rule.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled the death of Desmond Tutu. This is what he said in a Twitter post;
” Emeritus Archbishop Desmond Tutu has been a beacon of light to countless people around the world. His emphasis on human dignity and equality will be remembered forever. I am very saddened by his disappearance. I extend my heartfelt condolences to all his supporters. May his soul rest in peace. ”
