Barcelona announced on Saturday the death of the first team doctor, before confronting the Catalan team of its counterpart, Osasuna, in the Spanish League.
The Barcelona and Osasuna meeting was postponed due to the death of the coach.
The club said through an official statement on X: “The club expressed its deep sorrow for the loss of a member of its medical staff, offering his hot condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time.”
The statement added: “Accordingly, the club decided to postpone the match that was scheduled against Osasuna in the 27th round of the Spanish League to a later date, in respect of the deceased.”
He concluded: “The Barcelona Board of Directors and all the workers in the club confirmed their solidarity with the family of the late doctor, wishing them patience and solace.”
