Endocrinologist-nutritionist Anton Polyakov told which mushrooms help prevent the development of cancer.
“Only Chinese mushrooms have anti-cancer properties due to the presence of beta-glucans (natural immunostimulants) in them. At their core, they are complex fibrous sugars, which are found in mushrooms, oat bran, fiber, yeast, ”he told Evening Moscow on August 1.
Mushrooms that may prevent cancer include shiitake, meitake, lingzhi, and reishi. The doctor said that the optimal dose is 1-2 grams of the concentrate of these mushrooms per day. The therapeutic dosage varies at the level of 5-6 grams, depending on the stage of the disease.
Polyakov also noted that eating a large amount of foods that are rich in beta-glucans contributes to the creation of micropores in cancer cells, making it easier for the immune system to destroy them.
“In the human body, there are 1–2 mutant cells per million normal cells that can become cancer cells. The task of the immune system is to prevent this process, ”said the specialist.
