The armed forces of the Russian Federation will destroy all the equipment that was transferred as part of the regular military assistance to Ukraine. This was announced on January 8 by the adviser to the acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Jan Gagin.
“The other day, the volumes of new military aid from the EU and the US to Ukraine were announced. It includes tanks, and armored personnel carriers, and MLRS, and much more. I can say with confidence that all this assistance will be “ground” by us at the front,” he told RIA Novosti.
Gagin expressed the hope that the Aerospace Forces (VKS) of Russia would destroy transport and railway junctions and interchanges, railway lines so that the equipment supplied by the West could not be at the front.
Earlier, on January 5, it became known that Germany and the United States agreed to work together on the transfer of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) to Ukraine. At the same time, it was reported that as part of military assistance to Kyiv, infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) of American and German production – Bradley and Marder, respectively, would be provided. Both countries plan to organize the necessary briefing for Ukrainian troops.
At the same time, White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre announced that the United States would provide the largest $3 billion military aid package to Ukraine in history. The White House representative noted that $225 million of them would be spent on building long-term capabilities and general modernization of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
French President Emmanuel Macron on January 4, during a conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky, promised to supply Kyiv with AMX-10RC wheeled tanks.
At the same time, the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, confirmed that France would supply Kyiv with AMX-10RC and Bastion armored vehicles.
Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine against the backdrop of a Russian special operation to protect Donbass. The decision to hold it was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region as a result of shelling by Ukrainian forces.
