The Emirates Fencing Federation, under the supervision of the International Federation of Fencing, is organizing the World Cup for Fencing for boys and girls, whose competitions will be held at the Zayed Sports Complex in Fujairah, starting today until next Sunday.
125 male and female players from 25 countries are participating in the tournament.
The first day’s competitions will be devoted to the youth category, the second day to the girls’ category, while the joint finals for boys and girls will be held on the third day.
The UAE national team includes nine male and female players: Fares Al Balushi, Abdul Rahman Mubarak, Hamad Al Ghafri, Issa Al Zarouni, Mohammed Al Muhairi, Al Hayam Al Balushi, Hamda Al Tamimi, Khadija Al Mesmari, and Hessa Al Tamimi.
The Secretary-General of the UAE Fencing Federation, Musa Al Balushi, confirmed that the tournament reflects the UAE’s continued hosting of major tournaments thanks to its advanced infrastructure.
