Member of the Board of Directors of the UAE Judo Federation and Chairman of the Judo Clubs and Centres Committee in the Northern Emirates, Issa bin Huwaiden, described the efforts made by the Kalba, Khorfakkan and Fujairah Martial Arts Clubs in exploring players and developing their technical and mental talents as paving the way for a strong qualitative shift in the development of judo among new players, stressing that it is an important step that will expand the list of distinguished players who are able to reach the podiums and join various national teams according to age.
This came during his visit to the Khorfakkan, Fujairah and Kalba clubs, which concluded the day before yesterday, as part of the UAE Judo Federation’s efforts to assess the clubs’ readiness to participate in the new season’s competitions, which will start tomorrow with the Federation Cup competitions.
Bin Huwaiden told Al-Emarat Al-Youm: “We discussed with the clubs their participation in the next season’s competitions and hosting the tournaments that will be organised by the Federation, and they expressed their readiness to do so, which will contribute to the success of the next season,” indicating that “the gains achieved translate the Federation’s vision that seeks to build strong teams in the age groups.”
