Slovenian Tade Pogačar, cyclist for the Emirates team, won his third victory yesterday in the “Prati di Tifo” stage in the “Giro da” in Italy, achieving 4.2.16 hours.
Stage 8 extended from Spoleto and ended on the summit of “Prati di Tifo”, with a length of 14.7 km.
The riders competed over a distance of 152 km, which included crossing the two uphill routes: Forca Capistrillo (the second category) and Cross Abio (the third category).
The upcoming ninth stage is the longest in the Giro championship, extending for 214 km, starting from Avezzano and ending in Naples with a final section on the hills.
The Emirates Cycling Team was able to control the leading group of 14 riders, which gave it about two minutes to gradually close the gap at the front of the race in the final climb until the owner of the pink jersey was able to win the race in the last start.
Pogacar said, “All of my teammates did a great job at the beginning of the stage, and they were able to withstand the first upward path with the team finishing at the top of the group, and they achieved a distinguished finish, and I am very happy with this victory and the good level shown by the entire team.”
The Emirates Cycling Team also secured another position in the Tour of Hungary, with cyclist Mark Hirschi achieving second place in the fourth stage, “Budapest-Etic, 165.5 km long.”
