She added that Etisalat and Orange are in talks separately with advisors to evaluate bids for a stake in Ethio.
She indicated that the deliberations are still in the early stages, and that the Ethiopian government has not announced a timetable for the sale, according to what was reported by the “Bloomberg” agency.
The sources added that Etisalat Group is also interested in applying for the license of the third mobile operator in the country if it is offered, and the companies must express their interest by September 15.
Last week, Emirates Telecommunications Group “&e” announced that it is in an early stage of discussions with the “PPF” group to form a potential partnership, with the aim of exploring opportunities for strategic cooperation in Central and Southeast Europe (excluding the Czech Republic), which will benefit both groups.
