The equestrian team won three new medals at the conclusion of its participation in the show jumping competition held at the Sharjah Equestrian Club, as part of the first Gulf Youth Games “Emirates 2024”. The team monopolized the top three positions in the singles competitions.
The jockey Issa Omran Al Owais was crowned with the gold medal on the horse “Conkita”, the knight Mabkhout Al Karbi was crowned with the silver medal on the horse “Delphine von Rochrath”, and the jockey Muhammad Saeed Al Khatri was crowned with the bronze medal on the horse “Culustan D”.
At the conclusion of the competitions, Sheikha Rawda bint Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum crowned the champions, in the presence of Fares Al Mutawa, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee and Vice President of the Supreme Committee for the session, Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, and Sultan Al Yahyai, Director General of the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club.
Our team won the bronze medal in the team category on the opening day through the quartet, Abdullah Hamad Al-Karbi, Ali Ahmed Al-Junaibi, Muhammad Saeed Al-Ghurair, and Muhammad Hamad Al-Karbi, concluding its participation with four medals.
The UAE cycling team also added two new silver medals in the individual and overall team races, which the Saudi team dominated by winning seven medals (4 gold, 2 silver, and a bronze).
In table tennis, the UAE girls’ national team won the bronze medal, after exciting matches held in the Shabab Al Ahli Club hall in Al Mamzar, while Bahrain won the gold medal, and Kuwait won the silver.
On the second day of the team table tennis competition, the young women of the Emirates defeated the Omani team 3-1, while Bahrain defeated Kuwait 3-1.
Our national team is represented by players Hessa Saud Al-Nimr, Rahma Hassan Al-Khuzaimi, Maryam Sultan Yaqib, Hind Sultan Yaqib, and Mira Hamad Malaleh. The team is led by coach Maysaa Nader, and with her is the manager Asma Al-Balushi.
Our national youth team also came close to winning the bronze medal for the teams, after it managed, on the second day of the competition, to defeat the Kuwaiti team 3-0, and lost to Bahrain 1-3.
The UAE continued to lead the medal standings until the competition the day before yesterday, with 191 medals.
The curtain came down on the volleyball competition that took place in the Al-Nasr Club hall in Dubai, with the UAE team in fourth place, while the Bahraini team succeeded in climbing to the podium and winning the gold medal with five victories and 12 points, after its victory in the final fifth round over Oman 3. -0, and the Saudi team won the silver medal with four victories and 13 points, defeating its Kuwaiti counterpart, who won the bronze, 3-1, and the Omani team remained in last place without any victory.
