To have a good time in nature, you need to not only buy fresh food and drinks, but also take a few essential things with you. VseInstrumenty.ru expert Angelina Surkova told Izvestia what would help make the picnic more comfortable.
First of all, the specialist noted that a barbecue or grill, as well as firewood and coals, are needed to cook food on fire. It is also worth taking care of fire safety: take bottled water to extinguish a fire or a small fire extinguisher. In advance, you need to make sure that the fire extinguisher is working and charged (for this you can check the marking on the fire extinguisher, the charge indicator). At the same time, Surkova urged to pay attention to the fact that in some places for picnics, making a fire may be prohibited, so you need to clarify this information first.
It’s also a good idea to have a cooler or food storage bag with you at a picnic to keep your food fresh and your drinks cold.
In addition to the basic equipment, various accessories are also needed for a picnic. So, folding furniture will be useful – tables, chairs, sun loungers and more. They will not only provide a comfortable environment for eating, but also create a comfortable area for relaxation and entertainment.
A rug or blanket will allow you to sit and lie on the grass without harming your clothes. An umbrella or tarpaulin will also come in handy to protect yourself from the sun and rain.
Cooking is impossible without kitchen utensils, Surkova emphasizes. For example, a knife, opener, cutting board and kitchen tongs. Special food containers (plastic containers or jars with a lid) will allow you to neatly fold food.
It is important to take care of protection against insects. These can be mosquito and tick repellents, mosquito nets or fumigators.
“Now ticks are especially dangerous, so to prevent them from getting under clothing unnoticed, you can put socks on over your pants and jeans, especially if you walk in tall grass. In general, when it comes to clothing, dress comfortably. As a rule, it is cooler in nature than in the city. It is better to take a jacket or sweater with you so as not to freeze. In addition, shoes should be comfortable and protect your feet from mud and rocks, especially if you plan to walk in the woods. Don’t forget your hat and sunglasses,” the expert concluded.
Roman Ivanov, an expert at the Gemotest laboratory, in turn, added that it would be advisable to put a sterile and non-sterile bandage, hydrogen peroxide or chlorhexidine for wound treatment, several packs of adhesive tape, panthenol (in case of sunburn) in the first-aid kit. It is also worth taking painkillers and antipyretics, allergy pills and activated charcoal with you.
“And of course, do not forget the medicines that you take constantly if you have chronic diseases or you are undergoing treatment,” the doctor said.
On March 31, a study by YuMoney and Rambler&Co services was published, according to which almost every fifth Russian prefers to spend the weekend lying in bed.
