Already 82% of Russians apply for a mortgage online, and in some large cities the share of such borrowers has reached almost 100%. In the future, the issuance of such loans may completely disappear offline. Tatyana Reshetnikova, deputy head of the mortgage department of the federal company Etazhi, told Izvestia about this.
“The process of applying for a mortgage online provides a number of advantages, from the fact that there is no need to go to the bank, and ending with the fact that one application can be sent to several banks at once, and then choose the most favorable loan terms,” Reshetnikova explained.
According to her, among large cities, the largest share of borrowers who applied for a mortgage online in January 2023 is in Krasnodar (98%), Yekaterinburg (95%), Samara (94%), Ufa (91%), Moscow and St. Petersburg (90%).
“Fewer and fewer property buyers are choosing traditional methods of obtaining a mortgage, therefore, in the medium term, mortgages will completely switch to an online format, and this will further speed up the process of approval and issuance of a loan,” the expert believes.
Earlier, on February 4, mortgage experts from the federal company Etazhi told Izvestiya that the average size of a mortgage loan in large cities of Russia increased by 11.5% compared to January last year.
