According to the expert, most of the vitamins a person receives from food, so, as a rule, there is no need for additional supplements. Regular consumption of large doses of vitamin C to strengthen the immune system can lead to dental problems.
“If vitamin C is in excess, then the destruction of bone tissue, for example, teeth, begins, and the load on the kidneys will increase. Hypervitaminization cannot be treated, it is intoxication of the body, ”she explained.
The specialist notes that vitamin deficiency is quite easy to make up for. At the same time, it is almost impossible to get rid of their excess.
“A large amount of vitamin B in the body causes inflammation of the mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract. Because of this, useful substances are no longer absorbed, malfunctions of the immune system begin, ”she said.
In addition, the expert said that it is impossible to take vitamin-mineral complexes for preventive purposes, only a doctor can determine the duration of the intake and determine the dosage.
