Statistics monitored by “Emirates Today” from the official website of the UAE Football Association revealed that the first and second rounds of the ADNOC Professional League in the current season 2024-2025 were free of any financial fines or disciplinary sanctions on the 14 clubs participating in the competition, while the only penalty issued by the Disciplinary Committee was a warning to Ajman Club (without any financial fines against it), after its fans verbally abused the referee of its match with Shabab Al Ahli, noting that Ajman’s match with Shabab Al Ahli in the second round ended with Shabab Al Ahli winning 2-1.
The most prominent penalties issued by the Disciplinary Committee since the beginning of the season until now included issuing a warning penalty to Al Jazira player Ramos Merez, and fining him 5,000 dirhams for lifting his shirt and publishing the slogans underneath it, during the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup competition. In the Under-15 League “B”, Ajman Club player Ryan Khaled Al Khalidi was suspended for two matches, and fined 5,000 dirhams for verbally abusing the match referee.
In the Under-16 League “A”, a warning penalty was issued to Shabab Al Ahli Club for not entering the injury of player Abdullah Awad Saeed Awad Al Ameri into the electronic medical system. In the same competition, a warning was issued to Al Ain Club for not entering the injury of player Saud Yaqoub Saeed Al Darei into the electronic medical system. In the same competition, a warning was issued to Ajman Club for not entering the injury of player Abdullah Ali Harb Al Shuwaihi into the electronic medical system.
For his part, the former head of the Players’ Status and Transfers Committee at the Football Association and sports analyst, Dr. Salim Al Shamsi, attributed the absence of any penalties or financial violations in the league competition so far to the fact that “the competition is still in its early stages, but when the intensity of competition increases, violations will increase.”
Salim Al Shamsi told Al-Emarat Al-Youm: “The nerves of the players, coaches and even the fans are calm so far, because there is no real competition between the teams, because the league is in its early stages. However, when the competition intensifies, this will increase the pressures and the state of agitation and tension between the players and coaches, and consequently the violations and fines against the clubs will increase.”
