Correspondent of the Izvestia TV channel Ksenia Soldatova attended the opening of the first large supermarket with Russian goods in Kherson.
The goods in the supermarket were brought from Russia – on the packages all the names are written in Russian. In addition, the products have double price tags – hryvnia/ruble.
“The range is good, quite varied. As the management of the shopping center told me, there are more than 9 thousand items,” said Vladimir Saldo, head of the military-civilian administration of the Kherson region.
Saldo said that this is the first large-format supermarket that has resumed work in Kherson. He specified that conditions would be created under which it would be profitable to trade in rubles.
“The nearby Crimea gives us a shoulder, and part of the agricultural goods and Kherson processors is already here, already there. I think that this segment will expand, because we have always cooperated with Crimea. <...> And the Crimean products, which we do not have now, will come here and will also equalize prices. Therefore, there is mutually beneficial cooperation with the Crimean business,” Saldo added.
As Olga, one of the sellers, told, residents of Kherson work in the store. There are plans to open two more stores.
Today, the deputy head of the administration of the Kherson region, Kirill Stremousov, said that the region is clearly integrating into the Russian Federation and the region will never return to Ukraine.
Peaceful life continues to improve in the Kherson region after the region was liberated from Ukrainian radicals by Russian troops on March 15. On May 1, the region introduced rubles into circulation. During the transition period, which will be about four months, both the ruble and the hryvnia will be in circulation here, after which the settlements will be carried out completely in rubles.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. Moscow explained that the tasks of the special operation include the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, the implementation of which is necessary to ensure the security of Russia. The decision was made against the backdrop of aggravation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
