On the Crimean bridge, the first two spans of the left side of the automotive part will be installed in January. This was announced on Friday, January 6, by Rosavtodor.
Two more spans will be installed in February.
“The sliding of the first two spans of the left side of the road part of the Crimean bridge will be performed alternately in January. For this, temporary restrictions on the movement of vehicles will be introduced twice. Two more damaged spans will be replaced next month.
After that, workers will install a fence and lighting poles, lay two layers of asphalt concrete pavement. Marking will also be applied.
The report notes that the repair of the facility does not affect traffic in any way.
Part of the Crimean bridge was damaged by a truck explosion on October 8. As a result, seven fuel tanks of the railway train caught fire, which led to the partial collapse of two car spans. Four people were killed in the incident.
On December 7, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin announced that specialists had begun repair work on the left – automobile – part of the bridge. In addition, he ordered the strengthening of vehicle screening measures in order to reduce the waiting period for drivers to pass. According to Khusnullin, the work is proceeding according to the schedule.
Two days before, traffic was opened on the right side of the bridge, where two victims of the explosion of the span were restored. On the same day, December 5, the object was visited by Russian President Vladimir Putin. He personally got behind the wheel and drove along the restored lane.
It is planned to complete the restoration of the transport and engineering infrastructure of the bridge, including the damaged railway track, by December 1, 2023.
