The “Ana Rosa” program on the Spanish Telefónico network, on Wednesday morning, published a video clip of the trial of former Barcelona player Dani Alves, who has been arrested for 6 months on charges of raping a woman in a Barcelona nightclub late last year.
The Spanish police have been holding the Brazilian international player since January 20, on charges of raping a 23-year-old woman on December 30 last year.
And the “Ana Rosa” program showed the first video clip of the former Barcelona, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain player, since his imprisonment, as he appeared to give his statements to the judge regarding his accusation of rape.
Alves, 40, appears dressed in a black suit and sits on a chair, as he says during the video that the woman did not try to stop him during that night or even ask him to move away, whether inside the club or in the bathroom where the alleged rape took place.
And I follow: Everything that happened was consensual. For me, the most important thing in life is respect, and I will not disrespect anyone for whatever reason.
The court refused to release Alves on parole for fear that he would leave Spain and return to Brazil, which does not have a wanted exchange agreement with the latter, while his Mexican club, Pumas, terminated his contract shortly after his imprisonment.
