The president of the French Football Federation revealed that former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane may replace Argentine Mauricio Pochettino on the bench of Paris Saint-Germain next season.
The Argentine is expected to leave his position at the end of the current season, despite winning the league, after failing to achieve the Champions League, exiting the French Cup and losing the French Super.
Speaking to L’Equipe, the president of the French Federation said: “Zidane showed his training abilities amazingly with Real Madrid. For the French, he may be the perfect alternative to the current coach of the current national team, Deschamps, but this is not my goal. If Deschamps and I agree on his departure from the national team, Zidane will be one of the options.” Absolutely.
He continued: Zidane may coach Paris Saint-Germain, as for the coach of the national team, you should not be tied to a contract with anyone else, we will do our best to create all the conditions for Deschamps to win the World Cup.
Zidane is the first coach in history to win the Champions League three times in a row. He also won the Spanish League, the Spanish Super, the European Super and the Club World Cup twice during his two terms at the “Santiago Bernabeu”.
