The Football Association announced the launch date of the Futsal League on the fifth of next October, with the first round of the men’s league, which will witness the matches of Shabab Al-Ahly with Al-Mouj, and Kalba with Al-Bataeh.
11 teams will participate in the league, including Al-Bataeh, Kalba, Khor Fakkan, Mleiha, Dibba Al-Hisn, and Al-Hamriyah, which participated last season, in addition to the teams of Shabab Al-Ahly, Residency and Foreigners Affairs, Al-Mouj, Yarmouk, and Fleetwood United. The league will be held in two round-robin stages, followed by the “playoff” stage.
The newly joined teams will play their matches in the Football Association Hall in Al Khawaneej, while the teams that previously participated in previous seasons will play their matches on their usual stadiums.
The return of Shabab Al-Ahly to participate in the league championship is considered important, because of its distinguished history in futsal, and its distinguished record of championships, especially the 2018-2019 season, during which Shabab Al-Ahly won three championships, namely the league, the President’s Cup, and the Emirates Cup.
It is noteworthy that the Al-Bataeh team had previously won all the tournaments last season, namely the league, the Super Cup and the Emirates Cup.
