The General Assembly of the Handball Federation unanimously approved the return of the general league championship system for the men’s stage to its old system consisting of two rounds (home and away), and the abandonment of the current tournament system consisting of three rounds (preliminary – semi-finals – final).
This came with a vote of 12 clubs out of the 17 clubs that formed a full quorum for the General Assembly, which held its 37th session today in Sharjah, in the presence of Vice President of the Handball Federation, Abdul Salam Al Muhairbi, members of the Federation’s Board of Directors, and representatives of the clubs under the Federation’s umbrella.
Sharjah Club submitted a proposal to return the “Aqwa Al Hand” League for the men’s stage to its old system. The proposal received the approval of Al Jazira, Al Wasl, Al Nasr, Local, Al Dhafra, Al Bataeh, Bani Yas, Ittihad Kalba, Al Dhaid, Dibba Al Hisn and Khor Fakkan clubs, in addition to the one who submitted the same proposal, Sharjah Club, and it will be approved and implemented in the new season 2024. 2025.
