Benali confirmed that several new projects have been licensed with a capacity of about 1,000 megawatts, which is the largest capacity licensed by the ministry in its history in one year.
In her written answer, the minister added that a set of new initiatives and programs had been developed, including the implementation of a program aimed at providing all industrial zones with clean electric energy of competitive value, so that a license was granted for two projects to supply industrial zones in Kenitra and Tangier with a capacity of about 150 megawatts.
The Minister of Energy Transition also indicated that two laws were issued this year, Law No. 40.19 amending and supplementing Law No. 13.09 related to renewable energies, and Law No. 82.21 related to the self-production of electric energy, which aims to enable citizens, including homeowners and small and medium-sized enterprises, to have access to Renewable energies with low cost, and better control of their energy consumption.
The Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development also revealed a number of incentive measures to encourage the use of solar energy mainly in the agricultural sector, including exempting the materials that go into making solar panels from value-added tax.
