On April 27, a natural fire spread to the territory of the Kurganstalmost plant in Kurgan, the governor of the Kurgan region, Vadim Shumkov, informed.
“The extinguishing work is underway. We are additionally raising workers from several factories to help put out fires,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
The press service of the regional government noted that in connection with the fires near the microdistricts Utyak and Zaikovo, SNT “Emerald” Kurgan organized a preventive evacuation of residents. People will be sent to a temporary accommodation center at the Zvezdny health camp in the Ketovsky district, 16 km from the regional center.
CJSC “Kurganstalmost” is engaged in the manufacture of building structures and bridges.
In the village of Logoushka, Ketovsky district, near Kurgan, 10 houses and 20 outbuildings caught fire earlier that day. Later, emergency services clarified that the number of burning houses in Logoushka had risen to 76.
As a result of the incident, one person died, rescuers found his body while extinguishing the fire and sorting out the rubble. According to preliminary data, sparks from a diesel locomotive passing by the village became the cause of the fire, this information is also confirmed by local residents.
In recent days, several large fires have occurred in Russia. So, on April 25, a fire in the village of Sosva, Sverdlovsk Region, destroyed about 150 houses, leaving about 660 people homeless. Two people died – a man and a woman. The fire started at the sawmill, where the shield closed. On April 26, three criminal cases were initiated on the fact of fires in the Sverdlovsk region in connection with the possible negligence of officials, causing death by negligence and violation of fire safety requirements. Two suspects were arrested in connection with the incident.
The Sverdlovsk region will allocate 95 million rubles to the victims.
Another fire occurred on April 25 in the village of Taezhny, Sverdlovsk Region. There, 21 houses caught fire, 16 of which were residential. Rescuers evacuated 27 people. The next day, firefighters were able to localize the fire on an area of 2.7 thousand square meters. m.
In addition, rescuers fought the fire in the villages of Visim, Neustroeva, Karpinsk and Progress.
