Highlights:
- Not attending the trial is impatient
- At least the counter was outraged that it wasn’t even filed
- Decision to impose a fine of Rs
The decision was taken on Wednesday during the hearing of petitions filed against O Jivo, who was issued by the Revenue Secretary in 2016 for land acquisition required for cultivation and irrigation projects undertaken by the Telangana government. The petitions have been heard several times in the past and the court has directed that counter affidavits be filed seeking the government’s explanation. The bench, however, expressed impatience that they had not filed and that the same had been going on for four years. She reminded that she was ordered to appear in person for the hearing but was ignored. At least she did not even file a petition seeking exemption from personal appearance.
The court said it had also made it clear during the hearing last month that it would file a counter affidavit. The tribunal recalled all this and clarified that a fine of Rs.10,000 was being imposed. CS adjourned the hearing to May 24, ordering him to appear in court.
