The UAE ice hockey team won third place and the bronze medal in the World Cup “Second Level (A)”, after its victory the day before yesterday, over its Australian counterpart (5-4) in the fifth and final round of the tournament that was held in the Republic of Serbia from the 21st to the 27th of this month.
The players of the team that won two World Cup titles in 2022 and 2023, in both Luxembourg (third level (A)) and Turkey (second level (B)), played strong matches that led them to third place in the tournament.
The Secretary-General of the Emirates Winter Sports Federation and head of the delegation, Juma Al Dhaheri, confirmed that achieving third place in the world is a new sporting achievement added to the achievements of UAE sports in the World Championships as the first Arab team to reach this classification, and to compete in the second level (A), stressing that the goal is The President achieved an advanced position in the tournament with the participation of international teams.
