Algerian international midfielder Ismail Bennacer will be absent from the stadiums for at least six months, after his Italian club, AC Milan, announced on Tuesday that he had undergone knee surgery during the loss to his neighbor Inter in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals.
The Lombard club said in a statement on its official website: Ismail bin Nasser underwent surgery on his right knee in Lyon on Tuesday morning.
He continued: Doctor Bertrand Sonri Cote performed a successful surgery to repair cartilage damage in the presence of Milan doctor Stefano Mazzoni. The recovery time is estimated to be at least six months.
And Ben Nasser (25 years and 46 international matches) was substituted in the 17th minute of Milan’s loss to his arch-neighbor last week, to face a difficult task by overturning the result in the response match on Tuesday evening.
Milan ranks fifth in the domestic league, which it achieved last season, and is struggling to secure a qualifying position for the Champions League next season.
Ben Nasser, born in France, moved to Milan in 2019 from Empoli and has carried his colors so far in more than 100 matches, scoring five goals.
