136 male and female jumpers from 26 countries will participate in the championship, which will continue until December 8, including an elite group of the world’s strongest teams. Its competitions will be held at the Skydive Dubai Club in the Mina Seyahi area.
Vice President of the Emirates Air Sports Federation and Director of the Supreme Organizing Committee, Yousef Hassan Al Hammadi, thanked His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and Chairman of the Executive Council, for his generous patronage and continued support for the championship, stressing that His Highness’s keenness to support this sport and strengthen global unity was the basic foundation for its success and development.
He stressed that the official announcement of upgrading the tournament to the Dubai World Skydiving Championship (DWSC) reflects the prestigious international status that the tournament has achieved over the past years.
Al Hammadi announced that expert Helmut Baskok would take over the technical responsibility for the tournament in its new phase, succeeding Helmut Schleich, who played a major role in the success of the tournament since the launch of its first edition, and expressed his confidence in the abilities of the new expert in leading the tournament to achieve more successes.
