The Russian military and the People’s Militia of the LPR are waging a stubborn struggle with the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) for the settlement of Zolote. On Thursday, June 23, Izvestia correspondent Denis Kulaga told.
According to him, in the summer it is easier to move between positions and collect information due to dense vegetation.
The journalist noted that there is a fairly intense struggle for Zolote, the military is fighting for every meter of land.
He also pointed out that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are hitting their own former fortifications, which have passed into the hands of the military of the LPR and Russia.
The day before, the journalist examined the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, recaptured during the attack on the cities of Zolote and Gorskoe. He found abandoned things and a machine-gun belt unsuitable for firing.
On the same day, a group of foreign mercenaries was liquidated in the area of Zolote and Gorskoe. They were surrounded along with the Ukrainian forces. Andrey Marochko, Lieutenant Colonel of the People’s Militia of the LNR, reported about the group’s hit in the cauldron a day earlier.
Prior to that, on June 20, Marochko said that groups of Ukrainian militants were surrounded in the cities of Zolote and Gorske in the Severodonetsk district of the Luhansk region.
