Today, Saturday, the Saudi merchant ship “Amana” arrived from Port Sudan to the King Faisal Naval Base in Jeddah, with 1,982 people of various foreign nationalities on board.
This is the largest trip since the start of the Saudi evacuations from Sudan to Jeddah.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs had announced, earlier, the evacuation of 2,796 people, including 119 Saudi citizens, and 2,677 people of 78 nationalities, since the start of the evacuations.
It indicated that 52 state nationals arrived in Jeddah on Friday morning.
It added in a statement that the nationals were from the United Kingdom, South Africa, Russia, Ghana, Lebanon, the United States, Niger, Bangladesh, Libya, Canada and Guinea, as they were transported by His Majesty the King’s ship “Jubail”.
Evacuation of nationals and diplomats
The conflict in Sudan between the army and the Rapid Support Forces prompted countries to quickly evacuate their diplomats and nationals.
Several countries evacuated their nationals by air, while others headed to Port Sudan on the Red Sea, about 800 km from Khartoum by land.
