Saudi Arabia is creating new ways of building cities and finding new ways of life. The people of Saudi Arabia are looking forward to this project with great hope as it will meet their growing demand in the future, he said in an interview for a documentary prepared by Discovery Channel in this regard.
The Line in Neom is a futuristic city in Saudi Arabia without roads, cars or pollution. Considered to be the largest infrastructure project in history, it promises a revolution in urban life, he said. ‘We have money. We have land, we have a stable government, we have good infrastructure, we are a G20 country,’- he said about Saudi’s favorable factors to implement the project. Saudi Arabia’s population is estimated to double from 33 million to 50-55 million by 2030. By then, the population will have grown enough to use up the full capacity of the country’s existing infrastructure. This shows the importance of creating a new city – he said.
The idea of a city in a straight line called ‘The Line’ was amazing, it was huge and expansive. A competition was held for its design among the world’s best designers. All of them gave us city models that corresponded to the available models. But instead of the traditional circular city design, the idea of building a city in a straight line was accepted and he said that the concept of The Line came about.
There are many who doubt the viability of the country’s megaprojects, including the line at Neom, and believe it cannot be built. But let them keep saying it. We will build it and prove to them that it is possible – said Prince Mohammed bin Salman in an interview. The revolutionary The Line project is a 170 km long city. One crore people are expected to live here. The line will be an important part of Neom, Saudi’s dream project to be built at a cost of 500 billion dollars. A city without cars and carbon emissions will run entirely on clean energy. He also informed that artificial intelligence will be prominent in the city’s operations.
